Department of general medicine is housed in a separate building, it is in between main administrative building and casualty
Infrastructure
Accommodation
Adequate space for ACCOMMODATION OF patients, students, teachings, for clinical work done by PGT's provision for separate arrangement of faculty members, Independent working space for the steno-typist, departmental record room, stores, on duty medical officers and teaching faculties restroom during emergency services.
Unit
There are four medicine units in department ,each units has three MD PGT and unit one has additional PG, that contains four PGT.. Department has ICU, CCu and Dialysis also.

Day Clinics
- OPD for gen. Medicine from 9am to 2pm on all working days
- Emergency admission and patient care services round the clock for 24 hours.

Facilities for teaching
- Undergraduate (MBBS) courses for clinical and theoretical classes from 4th semester onward upto 9th semester to cover the curriculum as suggested by MCI till the completion of III professional. Part II final MBBS examinations.

Courses Offered
To review the basic concept of preclinical and paraclinical courses & to implement it in clinical practice in the clinical ward

- Seminar Seminar in our department is held once in a week as routine procedure followed from beginning of P.G. courses.
- Journal Club Weekly journal review on topics of interest and recent publication by PGT's in before senior faculty members
- Group discussion Unit wise group discussion on cases of clinical interest
- Other Inter departmental seminar on common topics related to allied departments in presence of senior faculties of all departments and presentation & intercollege mediquize.
- In last year in state conferences our PGT have presented research papers.
- PGT's has also presented research papers in API.
- Departmental research paper has been published in medicine update.

Departmental Library
A lot of books and journals of medicine specialties.60% of all journals are National and 40% are international journals. Internet facilities are also available.
Hospital Infection Surveillance
- In the form of Grand round with the Principal, Medical Superintendent, Nurse in-charge along with HOD of general medicine.
- Daily cleaning and weekly floor washing of all the floors
- Spraying of disinfectants in toilets & waste disposal through the universal systems using different colour of carry bags and incineration
- Study of floor swabs ,bed swabs & ICU and sending it for microbiological examination on monthly basis.
Other Information's
Round the clock cost effective treatment is being offered to patients attending the institute in indoor, OPD, ICU & in Dialysis units. Thus we work as a team for the welfare of our patients and the upliftment of our Institution.
